You’ve heard of a ‘law firm’.

You’ve probably heard of a ‘paralegal’.

Or at least, you’re vaguely aware that Megan Markle played a paralegal in Suits.

But have you heard of a paralegal firm?

Well, we exist, and we do a lot of the same things a law firm can do.

And some things we do better.

So for those looking for an alternative to a big clunky law firm, we might be just what you’re looking for.

Flexibility

The job of a paralegal is usually to provide lawyers with all the support they need. For example, if a lawyer has four different cases, a paralegal has to handle the research, interview, and admin work for the cases of lawyers A, B, C, and D.

To ensure their clients have all the support they need, we have to be extremely flexible to balance the demands of this high-pressure job.

We’ve been to law school, but since we’re not solicitors, we’re not regulated in the same way. That makes us more commercial and less risk-averse.

You can also put a paralegal in any environment and we’d give you our best.

Affordability

According to Glassdoor, the average yearly pay of a paralegal is £24,406. On the other side of this coin, lawyers, on average, earn £64,829. That’s 266% more, even considering:

Paralegals manage a huge chunk of the casework lawyers handle;
Many paralegal firms volunteer to be regulated and have similar comperehensive insurance policies to firms of solicitors; and
Paralegals have to be accredited by a reputable institute.

What could this mean for you? You can access the services of a reputable paralegal who has almost the same understanding of the law as a lawyer for 2.6x less the price.

Specialisms

Just like lawyers, paralegals, too, have different specialties.

For example, in a law firm, you’ll find lawyers who have a specialty in family law, bankruptcy, divorce, etc.

Similarly, in a paralegal firm, you’ll find paralegals who have the same kinds of specialties and years of experience in the field.

Additionally, we can take on multiple tasks, such as interviewing clients, doing admin work, doing research for cases, fact check resources, etc.

Your first step

The Duchess of Sussex aside, paralegals are the unsung heroes of the legal world.
